THE HOUSE RULES

TERMS OF USE

Last updated 21 August 2026

1. Using Tape Club

Tape Club is a community for making, discovering, saving, and discussing human-curated music mixes. You must be at least 13 years old and able to agree to these terms to create an account. Keep your login details secure and provide accurate account information.

2. Your mixes and uploads

You keep ownership of the original content you submit. You give Tape Club a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, resize, display, and distribute that content only as needed to operate and promote the service. For uploaded cover art, you must own the image or have permission to use it. Music links and catalogue metadata remain subject to their providers’ terms.

3. Community conduct

Do not post unlawful, infringing, deceptive, hateful, threatening, harassing, sexually exploitative, or privacy-invasive content. Do not impersonate people, automate abusive activity, interfere with the service, scrape it at unreasonable volume, or try to access another person’s account or drafts.

4. Moderation

We may remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts, or preserve evidence when reasonably necessary to enforce these terms, protect people, comply with law, or keep the beta reliable. We aim to review reports fairly, but we do not promise that every item will remain available.

5. Music services

Tape Club stores the canonical mix. Full mix playback generally happens through independent music services, while Tape Club may also provide optional previews through third-party services such as YouTube. Those services control matching, availability, playback, accounts, advertising, subscriptions, and licences. Tape Club is not responsible for a provider’s catalogue, transfer result, advertising, subscription, or availability.

6. YouTube

Tape Club may use YouTube API Services and embedded YouTube players to provide optional track previews. By using features that include YouTube content, you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. YouTube and Google may process information in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.

Tape Club does not download, extract, modify, or re-host YouTube audio or video. YouTube controls the availability, playback, advertising, and other features of its embedded content.

7. Beta service

The public beta may change, contain errors, or be temporarily unavailable. To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided as available without guarantees of uninterrupted operation. Nothing here limits rights that cannot legally be limited.

8. Ending an account

You may stop using Tape Club at any time. Account deletion will remove the account and its owned mixes and community activity, subject to short-lived backups, security records, legal obligations, and content another person independently supplied.

9. Changes

Material changes will be dated on this page. Continued use after an effective update means you accept the updated terms; where required, we will ask you to agree again.
